These are a few of the fantastic model ships I found in the Museum of Scotland.
I'm obsessed with them. So much care and detail.
It's impossible for me to look at these without thinking of Tintin. Specifically, The Secret of the Unicorn (1943) and Red Rackham's Treasure (1944) by Hergé.

In this story, Tintin purchases a model ship from the markets, only to discover it holds the secret to an age old mystery involving pirates, treasure, and lots of drunk sword fighting.

Not to mention the greatest submarine to never exist.

It's currently super cold and wet in Scotland, but I'm going to venture out to the Surgeon's Museum tomorrow. Should be interesting...
